Kham-ai Dejdoungtae's Works

Year: 1989
Technique : Wood Carving
Collection of Bangkok Sculpture Center : Jan, 2004
Concept: This work is inspired by ancient wisdom which prohibits people from eating elephants’ meat. Elephants are giant, long-living creatures which have sweet, delicious meat. To prevent them to come to extinction, people are told not to eat elephants as they are considered sacred. It is believed that elephants are the center of all lives. In them exist the Four Elements – Earth, Water, Wind and Fire which interrelate with one another, sometimes in harmony, sometimes in conflict.
